BMW 1 Series Review

For over 15 years, the BMW 1 Series has been an icon on the roads. Instantly recognisable from the shape alone, these cars have the comfort and drive to back the style.

The second-generation BMW 1 Series is a machine of beauty. It took to the roads in 2011 and had a kind-of facelift in 2014. The standout feature in any BMW for us is the ease that comes with using the infotainment system. At the touch of a button, right at your fingertips, you have NAV, TEL, MEDIA and a whole host of other functions. Compared to other makes in the industry, a BMW system is one of the easiest to use, without so much as a glance down from the road ahead.

Trim will, of course, depend on the model you are looking at, with M Sport being a firm favourite in the LMC offices.

For something that is classed as a ‘small’ car, it is weighty on the roads and will hug corners tightly and securely. With a heavy feel and, until recently, rear-wheel drive, it is a car that makes you feel safe as well as being a whole lot of fun to drive.

Great for young professionals and young families alike, just make sure you opt for five doors if there is going to regular visitors in the back seats.

Now, there are a few different models to choose from and believe us when they say, there isn’t a bad one in the line-up. Even with an entry level BMW, you will find yourself surrounded by a car that feels like luxury. If you want a good ‘all-rounder’ we would opt for the 120D model but advice is always available if you are torn between a few. There is nothing like driving off in a BMW and each time you sit in it, you will get the same feeling as you did the very first time, that we can promise you.

If you are looking for a BMW 1 Series in Essex, give the team at LMC a shout and we can find the model that is right for you. Be warned, once you get in, you won’t want to get out!
