The Peaks are packed with places to explore and if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, and to find some tranquility, it’s definitely the place for you. If you are in need of inspiration, here are some locations to get you going…
The Roaches
So many routes and so little time, or that’s usually the case anyway. You will be spoilt for choice with greenery here, so find a route and pack some snacks before heading out on the walk. There are plenty of pubs and places to stay so we would recommend making a weekend of it…
Mam Tor
Park and stay in Edale and enjoy the walk up Mam Tor. It is a big walk so be prepared but it is perfectly doable, even if you’re not a hiker by nature. It’s one for the walking boots but you won’t be disappointed, we promise you.
Stanage Edge
Popular with climbers but equally as stunning for those who don’t want to scale the cliffs! The views are absolutely gorgeous and you can either walk right to the top or pause half way up if you fancy less of a hike but still with all the views…
Thor’s Cave
Just like something out of a film, Thor’s cave is a magical place. It can be slippery in the rain so do take care but you will be quite amazed when you reach the mouth. Formed by nature many years ago, it is a wonder to behold.
