Did you know not signalling properly could land you a hefty fine of up to £5,000? Not only this but could rack up nine points on your licence, or even be disqualified from driving altogether if your behaviour is deemed dangerous?
If a pedestrian is killed due to your failure to indicate you could be found guilty of dangerous driving – this means you could be imprisoned for up to 14 years.
According to the Highway Code, a driver must always: “Warn and inform other road users, including pedestrians, of your intended actions.” Remember when turning into a street, if a pedestrian has already started to cross the road you should allow them to cross safely as they have the right of way.
