Ideas first

Write down all the places you want to visit and the things you want to see. Kind of like a brain dump to give you the space to start to plan. It’s great for deciding on places to go as well if you are torn between a few. Either make a note on your phone or get the good old-fashioned pen and paper out…

Look at your stops

Plan out where you are going to stop off. Either for fuel or food, or even overnight. This way, you won’t be worrying about an empty tank or an empty stomach when you have miles of road ahead of you.

Overnight stays

For overnight stays, think about whether you are going to plan and book in advance or wing it and see where you end up. Both have their advantages but either way we would always do our research before booking in and bedding down for the night.

Enjoy

Last but by no means least, enjoy. You can do all the planning in the world but what matters is that you have a chance to kick back, relax and enjoy the time spent exploring.
