The Peak District is packed full of long walks and beauty spots, it’s also a place we like to frequent. Here are some destinations to get you going and get you walking, be warned though as it can get a little blustery so dress and pack accordingly.
Dovedale
A tame walk but gorgeous nonetheless. Enjoy the stepping stones and the scenery and make sure yous top to take it all in. This is a great walk and adventure for families or those looking for something chilled out and relaxing. If you’re looking for more, check out the Cloud next to it.
The Roaches
More routes than you could shake a stick at, The Roaches has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a short ramble or something that is going to take you several hours, The Roaches is for you. Check out different routes online first or just head that way and see where the paths take you. It is windy up top and make sure you take a drink of water and some snacks if you’re heading out for a while.
Mam Tor
Mam Tor is a lovely walk and based in Edale which itself, is a cracking place to visit. There are some gorgeous places to stay and two brilliant pubs which are both worth a visit. Mam Tor is a walk and a half but the views from the top are more than worth the small trek.
Thor’s Cave
We love a visit to Thor’s Cave and there are a few different routes to get to it. When you’re there, be careful as it can be slippery but it’s amazing to see. You might want to pair this with another walk as it isn’t too long, or maybe a visit to the pub or to get some good food, which there is plenty of in The Peak District.
